REIKI SESSION** - What to expect

What to expect during a Reiki Session

  • If it's your first visit, you can expect to fill out some paperwork (takes less than 10 minutes and it will not affect your session time- this will only need to be done at your first visit) Or click here to DOWNLOAD FORM and fill out ahead of time!

  • We will take a few minutes to go over any issues or concerns you would like us to focus on

  • We will ask you to take off your shoes and most likely your belts and jewelry as well for both your comfort and the comfort of your practitioner

  • You'll start out laying face up on a padded, covered massage table (blankets, pillows and bolsters are available for your comfort.) We may turn you over later in the session to lay face down if your needs warrant

  • The room will be dimly lit and soft music will be playing

  • Your practitioner will place their hands lightly on or just above your body in a series of hand positions, including the head, arms, hands, body, legs, and feet. Each position will typically be held for a few minutes, but sometimes a practitioner may linger a little in those areas that need extra Reiki attention before moving on to the next position. Please know that safe touch should be practiced at all times, and a seasoned practitioner will usually be able to sense what is or is not appropriate touch for you, however be sure to tell your practitioner if you are uncomfortable at any time

  • You may feel some heat coming out of your practitioners hands, however everyone experiences Reiki in their own unique way and most people report feeling profoundly relaxed after a session. Reiki generally feels like a gentle warmth, but some people also report that Reiki feels like a pulsing, tingly, or even wave-like sensation. Some people see colors or experience a sudden remembrance of traumas long passed, while others feel nothing at all. Be assured that Reiki can help us to regain our health and restore us to a balanced state on all levels, physical, mental, and/or emotional, whether we feel it working or not.

  • Most sessions are done in silence, but feel free to talk with your practitioner if you would like. This is YOUR session! We have seen some of the BEST healing occur after a session filled with riotous laughter! Laughter is HEALING TOO!!

  • Falling asleep during a session is quite common and is a sign that some deep healing is occurring

  • This is YOUR time to relax and renew, so please advise your practitioner if you are uncomfortable at any time or would like a different choice in music

  • After your session, you may feel a bit dizzy or disoriented. This is normal and will pass, but do take your time getting up and off the table should you experience this

Treatment suggestions

  • Dress in loose, comfortable clothing, if possible

  • Since we'll ask you to take your shoes off, you may wish to wear or bring socks

  • Avoid excesses in jewelry and perfumes/colognes so you can rest comfortably

  • Please come well-hydrated (drink lots of water) in order to facilitate healing

How many sessions will you need?

Just like eating right and daily exercise, the effects of repeated, regular Reiki session are cumulative. While one session can work wonders, repeated, regular Reiki treatments can change your life in the most profound way. Whether in restoring our physical health, calming our minds and emotions, or just bringing us back into a balanced state, regular sessions are a helpful way to support our well being in every aspect. The more regular Reiki sessions we receive, the better we feel, so we recommend making biweekly Reiki treatments part of your regular self care routine, however you may need more or less treatments depending upon your situation. Remember to be kind to yourself! YOU MATTER MOST OF ALL!!

Things to remember

  • Please try to arrive on time. If you are late for your appointment, your session time will be shortened accordingly

  • We respect your time; please extend us the same courtesy. A minimum of 24 hours notice is preferred if you must cancel or reschedule your treatment. We usually give a reminder call or email the day before your appointment, but we also understand that sometimes things come up unexpectedly, so please contact us as soon as possible if a problem or sudden illness arises

  • An $85 cancellation fee for missed appointments will apply without 24 hour notice

  • Payment is due in full at the end of the session

  • Reiki is currently not covered under health insurance policies that we know of and we do not provide billing for insurance

  • Prices are subject to change without prior notice

  • Arriving sober to your appointment is a MUST!!
